Stuart Anderson

Managing Director MENA, Standard & Poor's

Stuart Anderson is the Managing Director & Regional Head Middle East for Standard & Poor's; based in their regional office at the Dubai International Financial Centre. Mr Anderson was appointed to this position in September 2011.

Prior to that Mr Anderson had more than 20 years of experience with Standard Chartered Bank in business development, risk management and governance functions throughout Asia and the Middle East. He had been appointed to the role of Chief Risk Officer at Standard Chartered in Bahrain earlier in 2011 and over the last four years has been responsible for managing the bank's wholesale risk management function in Abu Dhabi. His prior roles in the Middle East include leading Standard Chartered's regional non-bank financial institutions business and its wholesale bank business in Qatar.

Mr Anderson's extensive knowledge of global capital markets and his wealth of experience across business development, risk management, governance, investor and government relations leave him very well placed to capitalize on those opportunities as Standard & Poor's continues to engage with issuers and investors across the region to seek feedback about how best to serve them in the future. Reinforcing Standard & Poor's as a key participant in a Thought Leadership agenda for the broader financial services community is also an important objective.

Mr Anderson originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in 1990 and holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Curtin University in Australia. He is a New Zealand citizen.
